Safety breakaway lanyards for healthcare and industry
A safety breakaway is a plastic connector at the back of the neck that opens under a strong pull. If the lanyard catches on a machine, a door or a hospital bed, or is grabbed by a patient, it releases instead of tightening around the neck.
That is why breakaway lanyards are chosen by manufacturers, warehouses, hospitals, care homes and schools. Combine the breakaway with a detachable buckle so the access card comes off without removing the lanyard. Check your site's health and safety requirements before ordering.

01How does a breakaway lanyard work?+
It has a two-part plastic connector, usually at the back of the neck. It holds during normal wear and separates under a strong pull, so the lanyard drops off.
02Are breakaway lanyards required by law?+
That depends on the rules and risk assessment at your workplace. Many manufacturers, hospitals and schools require them internally — confirm with your health and safety team before ordering.
